Denver Man Walter Anderson Hospitalized after Pensacola Pedestrian Crash on U.S. 29
Pensacola, Florida (December 26, 2017) – A pedestrian sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Pensacola late Christmas night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at around midnight on Monday, December 25 on U.S. 29 at West Airport Boulevard.
Troopers said Walter Sinclair Anderson, 48, of Colorado, was standing in the inside lane of southbound U.S. 29 with his bicycle when he was struck by a Nissan Altima, driven by a 27-year-old Pensacola man.
Troopers said Anderson’s bicycle had no lights at the time of the crash. The driver of the Nissan attempted to drift sideways to avoid a crash but ended up striking him.
Anderson was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital with a critical head injury.
Police are looking for the victim’s next of kin.
Charges are pending.
