Bradenton Woman Injured in Bee Ridge Road Crash in Sarasota County
Sarasota County, Florida (December 5, 2017) – A crash on Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota County left one driver with serious injuries on Monday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The two-vehicle collision happened at about 10 a.m. Monday, December 4, at the intersection of Bee Ridge Road and Bell Avenue.
Troopers said 87-year-old Joanne L. Body of Sarasota, was sitting in a Honda CRV at a stop sign at the intersection on Bell Avenue when she made a left turn onto Bee Ridge Road and t-boned a Ford Focus driven eastbound on Bee Ridge Road by 34-year-old Sarah Petersen of Bradenton.
Petersen sustained serious injuries and was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Body was not injured in the crash. She was issued a citation for failure to yield to a right-of-way at a lights stop.
