Santia Myriah Feketa and Britney Lee Poindexter Killed in St. Lucie County Crash on Okeechobee Road

St. Lucie County, Florida (February 7, 2018) – Two teens lost their lives when their pickup was struck by a wrong-way driver Tuesday night in St. Lucie County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Authorities identified the victims as 17-year-old Santia Myriah Feketa, of Fort Pierce, and 16-year-old Britney Lee Poindexter, of Port St. Lucie.
The head-on collision occurred just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 6 on Okeechobee Road.
As per the FHP, 98-year-old Walter Arther Roney, of Dearborn Michigan, was driving a 1986 Mirage west in the eastbound lane of Okeechobee Road when he crashed head-on into a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Feketa.
Feketa and her passenger, Poindexter, died in the accident.
Roney and his passenger, 75-year-old Carolyn Elizabeth-Evans Bruns, of Brighton, Michigan, were transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce. Roney was listed in critical condition and Bruns in serious condition as on Tuesday night.
Hospital officials on Wednesday listed both patients in critical condition.
