Ormond Beach Woman Ruth Travers Killed in Daytona Beach Bicycle Crash
Daytona Beach, Florida (December 30, 2017) – An elderly woman was fatally struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in Daytona Beach on Friday morning, according to a report.
The crash occurred at around 3 a.m. on Friday, December 29 on Clyde Morris Boulevard near Strickland Range Road, police said.
Police said Ruth Travers, 80, of Ormond Beach, was riding her bicycle in the inside lane of northbound Clyde Morris Boulevard when she was struck by a 2008 Mercedes Benz.
Travers died at the scene of the crash.
Police said impairment was unlikely a factor in the crash and that there was rainfall when it occurred.
No charges are expected, police said.
