Russell Thom Killed in Suwannee County Car Crash with Semi Truck on CR 132
Suwannee County, Florida (December 2, 2017) – A deadly crash between a car and a semi-truck on Friday afternoon killed one person in Suwannee County.
A report by the Suwannee County Fire Department stated that a Honda Civic collided head-on with a semi-truck on County Road 132 at about 3 p.m. on Friday, December 1.
The driver of the Civic, Russell Albert Thom III, failed to yield to a semi-truck that ended up hitting the Civic on the left side. The crash caused the semi to overturn and came to rest on the south side of County Road 132.
Thom was killed in the crash.
The driver of the semi-truck suffered serious injuries and was transported to Shands UF of Gainesville.
The crash is under investigation and charges are expected to be filed.
