Robert Sewell of Alva Killed in Grisly Crash Involving Motorcycle and Truck in Lehigh Acres
Lehigh Acres, Florida (November 9, 2017) – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 66-year-old Robert Sewell has been identified as the rider who was killed in motorcycle crash in Lehigh Acres on Tuesday morning.
Sewell, an Alva resident, was struck on Lee Boulevard in Lehigh Acres on Tuesday, November 7.
Troopers said James Simonson was driving a 2011 International 7000 service truck eastbound on Lee Boulevard when he ran a red light at the intersection of Walmart. At the same time, Sewell was driving a 1997 Honda from a parking lot at Walmart onto Lee and was on a green light when he crashed into Simonson’s truck.
The truck also struck another vehicle driven by 77-year-old Michelin Crispin of Lehigh Acres.
Sewell died at the scene of the crash.
Crispin and her passenger, Raymond Crispin, 80, sustained minor injuries.
Simson was not injured in the crash.
He is expected to face charges for running a traffic light.
