Navarre Man Richard Litterst Killed in Crash on U.S 98
Navarre, Florida (January 10, 2018) – According to Florida Highway Patrol, one man was killed in a crash in Navarre Tuesday morning.
The crash happened Tuesday, January 9, at Edgewood Drive and Highway 98.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, Richard G. Litterst was driving a 2008 Chevy Cobalt traveling south on Edgewood Drive while approaching a red traffic light.
A second driver, Geri D. Morse was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, westbound on Highway 98 approaching the same intersection where she had a green signal.
As per the report, Litterst disregarded the red traffic signal by driving around stopped traffic and proceeding southbound into the Highway 98 intersection, violating the right of way for Morse.
The two cars entered the intersection, and the front of the Silverado crashed into the left side of the Cobalt t-boning with it.
Litterst was taken to Gulf Breeze Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Morse and two other passengers occupying the car received minor injuries, FHP said.
Charges are pending as the crash remains under an investigation.
