Victims of Lantana Motorcycle Accident at Lake Osborne and Lake Bass Drive Identified
Lantana, Florida (November 13, 2017) – A man died, and his wife suffered serious injuries following a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon in Lantana, according to a report released by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The victims have been identified as 32-year-old Patricio Da Cunha and 28-year-old Natalia Da Cunha.
The deadly crash happened at around 4:50 p.m. Saturday, November 11 at the intersection of Lake Osborne Drive and Lake Bass Drive near Lantana Road.
Detectives said that Marie Alcindor, 43, of the Lake Worth, was driving a 2016 Infiniti east on Lantana Road. As she turned onto Lake Osborne Drive, a motorcycle struck the car’s right side. The motorbike was being driven by Da Cunha who was riding with his wife. The couple was thrown onto the roadway due to the impact.
Da Cunha was pronounced dead at the scene while his wife was shuttled to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach with serious injuries.
Both victims were reportedly wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
Reportedly, Da Cunha is the owner of a Boynton Beach Stone restoration firm.
Meanwhile, Alcindor was not injured in the incident.
Lake Osborne was shut down for several hours after the crash.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal event.
