Patricia Pla, 54, Hit and Killed by Vehicle on U.S. 19 in Hudson
Hudson, Florida (December 14, 2017) – A car knocked down and killed a 54-year-old woman on Tuesday evening on US-19 in Hudson, the Florida highway patrol said.
The woman was struck by a car at around 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, on U.S. 19 near Babson Avenue.
66-year-old Thomas Sammons of Spring Hill was driving a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant northbound on U.S. 19 when he struck the victim, Patricia Lynn Pla, 54, as she was walking east on the highway, troopers said.
Pla sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said Sammons was not intoxicated at the time of the crash and charges were not filed.
