Starke, FL – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an accident taking place Tuesday afternoon at about 1:45 p.m. leaves three young children and a woman from Raiford injured as their car crossed into the oncoming lane of State Road 100 and crashed nearly head-on with a tractor-trailer.
The Toyota Corolla was driven by 27-year Old Nicole Larkin and the children ages 4, 3, and 11 months were found without no seatbelts. Witnesses stated to officials that the vehicle was driving recklessly for many miles.
Larkin was driving west toward Starke when she struck the eastbound tractor-trailer near Southeast 129th Street.
The 4 and 3-year olds suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. The 11-month old and Larkin were transported by ambulance to the hospital.
Charges are currently pending as the crash remains under investigation.
