Atlas Drive Two-Car Crash Kills Melvin Sparkman and Seriously Injures 2 Others
Osceola County, FL (September 11, 2017) – One man was killed and two others were seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision on Atlas Drive on Thursday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the collision took place in Holopaw around 8 a.m. September 7.
Melvin Sparkman, 62, of St. Cloud, drove his vehicle eastbound on Atlas Drive. Troopers reported that he did not yield to a southbound vehicle on Holopaw Road being driven by Lacie Stark, 18.
Stark hit Sparkman on the left side killing him in the process.
Stark was transported to a hospital, along with Billy Sparkman, a 55-year-old passenger inside the other vehicle. They both sustained serious injuries from the crash.
The FHP is investigating the crash.
