Pedestrian Killed in Gilchrist County Crash Involving Patrol Vehicle on US 192
Gilchrist, Florida (January 2, 2017) – A Madison man was fatally struck by a Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle early Monday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident took place at around 1:20 a.m. on US 192, north of County Road 339.
Troopers said Max D. Bailey, 28, of Madison, was attempting to cross US 192 when he walked into the path of a patrol car traveling northbound.
Bailey was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
