St. Pete Woman Mary Norloff Killed in Hillsborough County Crash with Tractor on I-275
Hillsborough County, Florida (December 18, 2017) – A dog running across I-275 caused a deadly crash that left a woman dead on Monday morning in Hillsborough County, according to FHP.
Mary Carnes Norloff, 70, of St. Pete Beach was killed in the accident that occurred shortly before 11 a.m. near the Fowler Avenue exit.
FHP said Norloff was driving a Toyota Echo northbound on I-275 when she slammed on her brakes after a dog ran into the interstate.
Norloff was then rear-ended by a tractor-trailer, driven behind her by Kenya Williams, 43, of Sanford.
Troopers said Norloff died at the scene of the crash.
Williams was not injured.
FHP is conducting an investigation into the crash and charges may be pending.
