1 Killed and 1 Injured in Marion County Crash at State Road 40 and 140th Avenue
Marion County, Florida (November 5, 2017) – One person died, and another was seriously injured in a collision that took place Friday afternoon in Marion County, a local news source reported.
The collision happened at 3:45 p.m. Friday, November 3 at the intersection of State Road 40 and Southwest 140th Avenue.
According to the article, Troopers said that a 1999 Nissan was traveling east while a 2017 Toyota was heading west on State Road 40. The Nissan veered over the center lane divider for unknown reasons causing its left front to collide with the left front of the Toyota.
The driver of the Toyota suffered grave injuries in the crash and was rushed to Ocala Regional Hospital by Shands Care. Sadly, the victim died while receiving treatment. The driver of the Nissan sustained serious injuries. The article did not specify where the patient was taken for treatment.
The crash is under an investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
