Two Immokalee Residents, Manuel Rodriguez and Nicholas Rodriguez, ID’d as Two of Three Killed in Head-On Crash on SR 29
Glades County, Florida (November 23, 2017) – Two residents of Immokalee area, Collier County, were among three people killed in a head-on crash early Wednesday morning in Glades County, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at about 5:35 a.m. at SR 29 and Chaparral Avenue in Moore Haven.
Troopers said a Ford SUV was heading south on State Road 29 when the driver crossed the centerline and collided with a northbound truck, driven by Manuel Rodriguez, 31, of Immokalee.
After the collision, the two vehicles stopped on the west side of SR 29 and caught fire.
Troopers said Rodriguez and a passenger in his vehicle, J. Nicholas Rodriguez, 71, of Immokalee, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV driver was also pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three passengers traveling in the truck, Alfred Rodriguez, 41, Jeanette Alvarado, 29, and Gloria Rodriguez, 62, all of Immokalee, were seriously injured and were taken to local hospitals, troopers said.
State Road 29 was closed down as police investigated and cleared the scene.
