One Person Killed in Jacksonville Pedestrian Crash on Norwood Avenue
Jacksonville, Florida (January 26, 2018) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Friday morning in Jacksonville, according to Jacksonville County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash took place just before 7 a.m. on Norwood Avenue near the intersection of North Shore Drive.
Deputies said an 86-year-old man was driving a sedan along Norwood Avenue when he saw a man entering the roadway and drifted sideways in an attempt to avoid him.
The car ended up striking the pedestrian before crashing into a utility pole.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
The driver sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The victim’s name was not immediately revealed.
The Jacksonville County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation.
