Lakewood Ranch Luke Plasencia Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Road 70 in Bradenton

Bradenton, Florida (November 28, 2017) – A multi-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on State Road 70 killed a Lakewood Ranch man late Saturday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Three vehicles were involved the 10:30 p.m. crash near Lena Road on Saturday, November 25.
Troopers said a 2013 Honda motorcycle, driven by Luke Andrew Plasencia, 21, of Lakewood Ranch was traveling in the left lane of westbound State Road 70 when he attempted to enter the center lane and struck the back right of a 2017 Toyota van, driven by a 34-year-old Odessa woman. The van was traveling in front of the motorcycle.
The collision pushed Plasencia’s motorcycle into the center lane and was struck by a 2017 Ford Mustang, driven by a 20-year-old Bradenton man, and was traveling behind Plasencia.
Troopers said Plasencia was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four out of five occupants of the Toyota, including the driver, suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Mustang was not hurt in the crash.
