Deputy Kevin Stanton Killed in Brevard County Crash with Patrol Vehicle on Interstate 95
Brevard County, Florida (February 18, 2018) – Kevin Stanton has been identified as the Brevard County Sheriff’s deputy who was killed on Saturday morning when a patrol vehicle collided with a semi-truck near Titusville, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The 11-year veteran of the sheriff’s office died in the crash that took place at around 5:10 a.m. on Interstate 95 just north of State Road 50.
Troopers said deputy Stanton was on his way to work driving a patrol car southbound on I-95 and attempting to overtake a semi-truck when one of the front tires of the truck blew out, causing its driver to lose control. The semi struck the deputy’s patrol car.
The 32-year-old deputy was pronounced deceased at the scene crash.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the crash.
