Palm Harbor Woman Kala Gombos Struck and Killed on Seminole Boulevard in Pinellas County
Pinellas County, Florida (December 14, 2017) – A 23-year-old woman died Wednesday night after being struck by a car on Seminole Boulevard in Pinellas County, according to deputies.
Kala Gombos, 23, of Palm Harbor, was struck at approximately 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 13 on Seminole Boulevard, north of 53rd Avenue N.
Deputies said 68-year-old Dwight Wood was driving a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner southbound on Seminole Boulevard and was heading towards the intersection of 53rd Avenue when Gombos walked into the path of the vehicle and was knocked down.
Deputies said Gombos was not in a crosswalk when she was struck by the car.
Gumbos sustained major injuries and was taken to St. Petersburg General Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Deputies said impairment and speed were unlikely the cause of the crash.
