Clearwater Man Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Crash on Milwaukee Avenue in Dunedin

Dunedin, Florida (January 20, 2018) – A 60-year-old Clearwater man was rushed to a hospital on Friday after striking a vehicle and crashing into a tree in Dunedin.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened on Milwaukee Avenue near the intersection of James Street on Friday, January 19.
Deputies said Jessie Myrick, 60, of Clearwater, was driving a 2010 Dodge Nitro southbound on Milwaukee Avenue when he struck a 2012 GMC Arcadia that was parked at the side of the road.
A largo Police officer was parked at the Mease Dunedin Hospital and witnessed the crash.
He followed the dodge and activated his emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to stop Myrick.
Myrick continued traveling southbound and lost control of the vehicle drove off the side of the roadway and crashed into a tree.
The impact of the crash caused the Dodge to flip and landed on its roof.
Myrick was extricated by paramedics and transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with life-threatening injuries.
Police believe impairment was unlikely a factor in the crash and said Myrick might have suffered a medical emergency.
We wish a quick recovery to the victims of this accident. It is disheartening when a reckless party subjects an innocent person to suffering.
