Largo, FL – An investigation of a crash that took place Tuesday afternoon on Ulmerton Road that sent four people to the hospital is taking place by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Three of the injured people worked as child protection investigators.
On April 4th, at around 12:35 p.m., one of the investigators, Jana Mrkaja, was heading east on Ulmerton Road in an unmarked agency Ford Fusion. The Ford was hit on the passenger side by a 17-year old identified as Ithiphon Lertprotsombat.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe, 52-year old Jennifer Seaman, was struck by the Ford Fusion after the initial impact. Seaman was hit as she waiting to turn left on Coral way.
Lertprotsombat was not injured in the crash.
Seaman was taken to a local hospital for treatment and Mrkaja and her fellow child protection investigators Michelle Curd and Tiffany Tury were also taken to the hospital for treatment with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation but speed and impairment are not believed to be contributors to the crash.
