27-Year-Old Tampa Man Ian Rangel Killed When Car Crashes into Truck on Interstate 275
Tampa, Florida (November 13, 2017) – A fatal crash occurred on Monday morning on Interstate 275 claimed the life of a 27-year-old Tampa man.
The accident occurred at about 7:15 a.m. on the I-275 north near the Dale Mabry exit ramp, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a 2015 Mustang, driven by Ian Olvera Rangel, 27, of Tampa, was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on I-275 at Dale Mabry when, for some reason, the cut through the center median and struck a disabled dump truck on the rear.
Rangel died at the scene of the crash
The truck driver, Chris Cobian, 47, was standing beside the truck and was hit by the truck following the crash. Police said Cobian was not injured.
The crash closed the highway for about four hours but was later reopened.
Investigations are ongoing.
