Construction Worker Harley Schrank Killed in Fatal I-10 Crash with Semi-Truck in Pensacola
Pensacola, Florida (December 9, 2017) – One person was killed while another was injured after a semi-truck crashed into construction workers at the scene of an earlier accident in Crestview on Friday morning.
According to FHP reports, the fatal crash occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10, near mile marker 46 at about 10:23 a.m. on Friday, December 8.
Troopers said 29-year-old Bobby Steed of Orlando was driving a freight truck westbound on I-10 towards a crash scene when the truck slid and crashed into two construction workers who were setting up an arrow board at the site of an accident that had occurred earlier.
One victim, Harley Wolfe-Davidson Schrank, 24 of Holt, died at the scene of the crash. The other victim, Timothy Earl Smith, 19 of Pensacola, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
