Officer Hospitalized in Fort Myers Collision at Canal Street
Fort Myers, Florida (February 17, 2018) – According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Fort Myers Police officer was hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision on Saturday in Fort Myers.
The accident happened on Saturday, February 17, at the intersection of Canal Street.
The troopers reported that the officer was driving a patrol car on Jackson Street when the officer collided with a Toyota Camry at the intersection of Canal Street. The impact sent the patrol car over a guardrail and landed in a canal
The patrol car had to be pulled out, troopers said.
The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
