A 66-year-old man from Ruskin, FL is killed after being thrown out of a pickup truck during a traffic crash in Hillsborough County.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Spindle Shell Way at approximately 7:15 A.M. in Hillsborough County.
Troopers report that three drivers were involved in the crash. One driver is identified as 45-year-old Apollo Beach. Another was identified as 27-year-old Daniele Diana Hall and the third driver is 28-year-old Ortega Garcia.
Hall was reported traveling south on U.S. 41 in her 2012 Hyundai Elantra when she turned left and onto the path of a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado that was heading northbound and driven by Garcia. The two vehicles then struck one another.
Hall’s vehicle came to a stop on the right shoulder of U.S. 41. But the Chevy spun and struck a 2009 Honda Pilot which was driven by Alston. Once the Chevy struck the Honda, the pickup truck overturned and Garcia’s 66-year-old Passenger, identified as Ernesto Lopez Zaragoza was thrown from the pickup truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alston was rushed to St. Joseph’s South Hospital suffering from minor injuries. Hall had minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital. And Garcia was not injured at all.
