Five Vehicle Crash on State Road 710 Kills Erik Lee Harris
Indiantown, FL (October 12, 2017) – A multi-vehicle collision Thursday morning has killed one person and injured three others.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to an accident on State Road 710, near Amaryllis Avenue around 6:45 a.m. October 12. The report showed that the accident involved a tractor-trailer and four other vehicles.
A westbound tractor-trailer driven by an Okeechobee man crossed the median and entered the path of four vehicles. The trailer struck the left front side of each vehicle before it went off the road.
One of the drivers, 46-year-old Erik Lee Harris, of Keystone Heights, drove an older-model tan GMC pickup truck. He was killed in the crash.
There were three other individuals who sustained injuries in the wreck. They were transported to local hospitals with reported minor injuries.
The driver of the Southeast Milk semi-truck was not injured.
The road was reopened at 12:30 p.m.
