Wesley Woman Erica Rodriguez Killed in Apian Way crash
Hillsborough County, Florida (December 19, 2017) – A motorist was Killed in a Crash Hillsborough County Sunday Morning, authorities said.
The crash happened at about 9:15 a.m. Sunday, December 17 at Lutz Lake Fern Road and Apian Way.
As per the report, Erica Kristen Rodriguez, 24, of Wesley Chapel was traveling east alongside a group of riders following a grey 2017 Toyota Corolla 4-door, driven by Michel Ghobrial, 39,
Ghobrial was going to church with his family but turned back after realizing they had forgotten something at home.
Witnesses said Rodriguez was still traveling eastbound when she entered the westbound lane and attempted to pass traffic in a prohibited zone. She finally struck the Toyota’s driver side.
Rodriguez was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
No injuries were reported in Toyota Corolla.
No charges are pending, and no additional information was availed.
The incident remains under investigation.
