Brooksville Crash on State Road 50 Leaves Driver Injured
Brooksville, Florida (January 13, 2018) – A driver was injured following a crash in Brooksville Friday morning, fires officials said.
The crash took place at about 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 5, at State Road 50 and McKethan Road.
According to fire officials, a bus carrying 20 high school students was involved in a crash with a passenger vehicle. The vehicle was heavily damaged, and the driver was trapped inside.
Three students were treated for minor injuries, and everyone else in the bus turned down medical assistance.
The driver of the vehicle was extricated and transported to Regional Medical Center Bayoneti Point in critical condition, authorities said.
A dog that was also found inside the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was taken to Hernando County Animal Services.
The driver of the crashed vehicle is said to have turned into the path of the school bus, FHP said.
The crash remains under investigation.
