Charles Bien Hospitalized After Wakulla County Car Collision at Coastal Highway and Spring Creek Highway
Wakulla County, Florida (February 1, 2018) – 65-year-old Charles Bien, of Satsuma, was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash that took place Wednesday evening in Wakulla County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
The collision took place at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, January 31 at the intersection of Coastal Highway and Spring Creek Highway.
FHP said that a 2005 Buick Lasabre was traveling southbound on Spring Creek Highway and stopped for a red light. A second vehicle, a 2006 Nissan Quest, was heading eastbound on Coastal Highway.
The Buick entered the intersection directly in front of the Nissan, violating the right of way, and prompting a collision.
The impact caused the Nissan to hit a concrete traffic light pole. The pole and the traffic lights fell onto the Coastal Highway.
Bien, who was the driver of the Nissan, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Buick and a passenger sustained minor injuries and were also hospitalized.
Authorities are investigating the crash.
