Christopher Hannon Hit and Killed in Vero Beach Bicycle Accident on Indian River Boulevard
Vero Beach, Florida (February 5, 2018) – A bicyclist who lost his life Friday afternoon when he was struck by a vehicle in Vero Beach has been identified, a local news source reported.
Christopher Hannon, of Melbourne Beach, was hit and killed at the scene of the crash.
The accident was reported at around 12:40 p.m. Friday, February 2 on southbound Indian River Boulevard at the Merrill Barber Bridge.
According to a Vero Beach police report, Hannon was cycling southbound and while attempting to turn east to go over the Bridge, was hit by a vehicle heading north.
The rider, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle stopped and remained at the scene.
As a result of the accident, Indian River Boulevard between 37th Street and Royal Palm Boulevard was closed for an unknown period as investigators collected information at the scene.
