Interstate 10 Semi-Tanker Collision Seriously Injures 1
Walton County, FL (September 4, 2017) – Two semi trucks that crashed on Interstate 10 Sunday evening has seriously injured one of the drivers involved.
A press release from the Florida Highway Patrol shows that the two vehicles crashed around 7:36 p.m. September 3.
The report showed that 57-year-old Russell Adams, of Winter Garden, drove a 1984 tanker truck eastbound on the outside lane of Interstate 10. At the 91 mile marker, a 2015 semi driven by 52-year-old Arnold Gillespie, of Pensacola, rear-ended the tanker.
The collision caused the truck to overturn and stop on the south shoulder of the interstate. The eastbound lanes of the interstate were blocked for around four hours.
Gillespie was brought to Bay Medical Sacred Heart, where he is getting treatment for serious injuries sustained in the crash.
Adams and his passenger were uninjured in the crash.
The FHP has charged Adams for having faulty equipment, which was found to be a cause of the crash.
We extend our condolences to the family of the deceased.
