Anne Falcone and Eight Others Injured in Collier County Rollover Wreck on SR 29
Collier County, Florida (February 14, 2018) – Nine people were injured in a hit-and-run crash that caused one vehicle to roll over on Tuesday afternoon in Collier County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The collision happened at around 2:57 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, on State Road 29, south of Immokalee.
FHP said a driver attempted to pass an Everglades tour van by driving in the wrong lane, causing a vehicle in that lane to drift sideways to avoid a collision and ended up striking the van.
The impact caused the van to flip.
Two people were airlifted to a hospital and one of them, Anne Marie Falcone, was a staff of the tour company and was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Seven other people were treated for injuries.
FHP is conducting an investigation and is looking for the driver who caused the crash by driving in the wrong lane.
