Beach man Killed in Nassau County Pedestrian Accident on U.S. 1
Nassau County, Florida (December 22, 2017) – A pedestrian was seriously injured Thursday evening in a crash on U.S. 1 in Nassau County.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at around 6:20 p.m. on U.S. Highway 1 near Sauls Road.
Troopers said the victim, a 29-year-old Fernandina Beach man, was crossing the road when he was struck by a Nissan Maxima, driven by a 21-year-old Hillard man.
The pedestrian was rushed to UF Health with injuries that were deemed serious.
The driver of the Nissan and his passenger were unhurt.
The crash is under investigation.
