Orange County, FL – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle.
Reports mention that the bicyclist, 48-year old Donald Mosher, was hit by a pickup truck driven by 38-year Melissa Kidd.
Kidd was traveling north on South Clayton Street when she did not slow down and hit the rear-end of Mosher’s Bike on Sunday.
Mosher was transported to Florida Hospital Waterman, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Kidd did not immediately stop following the crash but came to a complete stop about a mile away from the incident.
There are charges pending against Kidd.
Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Donald Mosher.
Rear-end collisions are almost always the fault of the driver that hit the other motorist, in this case, Melissa Kidd.
Distractions and going at an excess speed of rate are often the reasons behind rear-end collisions. For this case, it was a deadly one, and one that professional personal injury attorneys at Percy Martinez Law Firm are extremely saddened about. An innocent man lost his life due to the negligence of another driver.
Drivers have a duty of care once they are on the road, and Kidd failed to exercise that duty. Once investigations conclude and they determine the exact cause for the accident, the liability percentage that Kidd will hold will be assigned to her. This means that Kidd will be liable to pay for all the damages caused to Donald Mosher’s family in this wrongful death case.
Damages are compensations that will be given to the family according to the decision of the jury and judge. They will determine the losses that the family suffered and offer them specific and non-specific damages in return. We know that no amount of money can compensate for the death of a loved one, but justice needs to be served. Mosher’s family needs to fight for the negligence that Kidd exercised on that day. We are here to offer help to all victims of negligent drivers. Our prayers go out to you guys.
