One Person Killed in Sebring Crash Involving Military Vehicles on U.S. 27
Sebring, Florida (January 19, 2018) – One person was killed while four others were injured on Friday afternoon in a major collision involving military vehicles in Sebring, according to authorities.
The crash happened at around 1:00 p.m. on U.S. Highway 27 at the intersection of Hammock Road.
According to police, three Palletized Load System vehicles were traveling northbound on U.S. 27 when the first and the second vehicles stopped for a red light. The driver of the third vehicle failed to stop in time and slammed into the back of the middle vehicle.
The driver who failed to stop was killed in the crash. A passenger in that vehicle was extricated and rushed to a hospital with serious injuries.
There were three other people who were transported to area hospitals.
Sebring Police are conducting an investigation into the crash.
