Civilian Injured in Jacksonville Car Crash with Police Officer on Lem Turner Road
Jacksonville, Florida (February 2, 2018) – A civilian was hospitalized early Thursday morning following a two-vehicle crash involving a police vehicle in Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
The accident took place at around 6:45 a.m. Thursday, February 1, on Lem Turner Road at Interstate 95.
Deputies said the officer had the lights and siren on and was responding to a call.
As the officer was making a turn onto I-95 from Lem Turner Road, his vehicle was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southbound on the interstate.
The officer and the driver of the civilian vehicle were not hurt.
A passenger in the civilian vehicle was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are conducting an investigation into the crash.
