Fort Pierce toddler Zyanna Laguerre Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash in St. Lucie County

St. Lucie County, Florida (January 2, 2018) – A toddler was killed and a baby seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash in St. Lucie County Sunday Morning, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash took place around 8:00 a.m. Sunday, December 31, on Midway Road.
According to FHP, 25-year-old Anthony Ahrens, of Fort Pierce, was driving a 2003 Acura westbound on Midway Road when it failed to slow down while approaching Glades Cut off Road.
Ednelson Laguerre was driving a 1999 Honda Accord westbound on Midway Road and was trying to slow down in order to turn right onto Glades Cut off Road when Ahrens Crashed into the rear of his vehicle.
As per the report, 3-year-old Zyanna Laguerre of Fort Pierce died in the Crash. Kyah Laguerre who was also in the vehicle suffered serious injuries.
Ednelson Laguerre suffered minor injuries in the crash.
It was not immediately clear whether the children were restrained when the crash occurred.
Ahren’s vehicle overturned after crashing into Laguerre’s vehicle and then struck the rear of 2016 Chevrolet Silvera driven by Duveton. Duveton sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
