Inverness Crash Kills Woman at State Road 44 and Arlene Avenue
Inverness, Florida (January 4, 2018) – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Inverness Wednesday afternoon, according to Florida Highway Authority.
The crash happened at about 4:26 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, at State 44 and Arlene Avenue.
According to FHP, 23-year-old Joshua N. Marsden driving a 2007 Nissan 350Z was traveling west on Route 44 near Arlene Avenue at a high rate of speed when he lost control, and his vehicle rotated across the eastbound lanes into the direct path of a 2010 Honda Civic driven by a woman.
The Honda crashed into the Nissan.
The woman was taken to Citrus Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Marsden who was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt was taken to Ocala Medical Center suffering from minor injuries.
Alcohol was not thought to be a factor in the wreck.
The incident remains under investigation.
