William Westervelt and Kimberly Boyer Injured in Key West Motorcycle Accident on U.S. 1
Key West, Florida (May 15, 2018) – Two people were injured Friday evening in a motorcycle crash with a car in Key West.
The accident happened at about 5 p.m. May 11, on U.S. 1, according to authorities.
Tyler Anderson, 25, of Palm Coast, was facing northbound and was preparing to make a left turn into a private driveway in his 2002 Chevy Tahoe. William Westervelt, 53, was riding his 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound in the inside lane of the highway.
Anderson pulled out into the motorcycle’s path and rear-ended it.
The bike came to a stop on the grassy shoulder of the highway after the collision. The Tahoe came to a rest in the parking lot adjacent to the private driveway.
Westervelt and his passenger, Kimberly Boyer, 48, both from Flagler County, were transported to Halifax Health in critical condition.
Anderson was uninjured.
An investigation is underway.
