William Perry Killed in Three-Vehicle Collision on State Road 31 in Charlotte County
Charlotte County, Florida (January 27, 2018) – A 60-year-old Fort Myers man was killed in a deadly crash Friday afternoon after attempting to overtake another vehicle in Charlotte County.
According to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened on State Road 31, just north of Cook Brown Road, shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, January 26.
Troopers said 60-year-old William Perry of Fort Myers was driving southbound on State Road 31 when he attempted to overtake a school bus and collided head-on with a northbound car.
The crash caused the Perry vehicle to rotate and crash into a third vehicle.
FHP said Perry died at the scene.
Three people were taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
FHP is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
