Alabama Pilot William Greenhaw Found Dead after Plane Crash in Dixie County
Dixie County, Florida (December 24, 2017) – An Alabama pilot died in a small plane crash in Dixie County, Florida, according to the sheriff’s office.
The pilot took off from Guntersville, Alabama, Wednesday afternoon headed to Orlando Melbourne International Airport.
The FAA reported the plane missing on Thursday morning and the search began in the afternoon.
The remains of the Beechcraft BE-35 aircraft and the deceased pilot were recovered on hunting land west of Gainesville on Friday.
The pilot, William Greenhaw of Alabama, was the only occupant of the plane when it crashed.
The FAA and NTSB are conducting an investigation into the crash.
