Bicyclist Waymon Tyson Hospitalized in Escambia County Collision on Michigan Avenue
Escambia County, Florida (February 10, 2018) – A Bicyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision Friday night in Escambia County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident took place at around 10:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, on Michigan Avenue, west of Valley Escondido Drive.
The FHP said that Waymon Dale Tyson, 31, of Pensacola was riding his bicycle eastbound in the left lane on Michigan Avenue when the car collided with his bike.
Mr. Tyson sustained serious injuries in the collision and was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle fled the accident scene.
An investigation to locate the driver and the vehicle, described as described as a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Nissan or Toyota, with possible front-end damage due to the collision is underway.
