Vicki Griffith Fatally Injured in Sebring Vehicle Crash on Bayview Drive at U.S. 27
Sebring, Florida (February 4, 2018) – A three-vehicle accident left an Illinois woman dead and sent three other people to a hospital on Saturday in Highland County, according to FHP.
The crash happened near Bayview Drive and U.S. 27 in Sebring on Saturday, February 3.
Fredrick Lodsin, 49, of Bokeelia, was driving a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Bayview Drive when a 2001 Chevy Venture turned into his path from U.S. 27.
Lodsin struck the side of the Venture causing it to rotate and overturn.
A third vehicle then slammed into the overturned venture.
A passenger in the Venture, Vicki Griffith, 58, of Breese, Ill., was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the venture, Arrin Griffith, 23, also of Breese, Ill., and another passenger, Gertrude Eck, 81, of Sebring, were both taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
Lodsin was treated for minor injuries at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring.
The third driver was not injured.
Arrin was cited for failure to yield to a right-of-way, troopers said.
