Fort Pierce, FL – St. Lucie County Fire District official stated that seven people were injured following a two-car accident that took place Thursday evening; one of them is in critical condition.
Fire District spokeswoman Brenda Strokes mentioned how crews got the call about a crash involving a pickup truck and SUV on Kings Highway north of Angle Road at around 4:58 p.m. One vehicle crossed the center line and hit the other car head-on while the two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions, stated FHP spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky.
The victims were all taken to the nearby hospitals. There were four boys and three women involved in the crash. One woman suffered severe injuries, while the other six victims have non-life threatening injuries.
Information of which vehicles the victims were in at the time of the crash was not available at the time. The condition of the man the pickup truck was not immediately provided.
Wysocky mentioned that The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash that caused Kings Highway between Orange Avenue and St. Lucie Boulevard to be closed until about 7:40 p.m.
