A fiery incident that happened in Suwannee County involving a semi-truck on Wednesday morning, leaves two people dead.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 1997 Ford F-150 was heading north on U.S. Route 129 heading towards the U.S. Highway 27 intersection. At the same time, 65-year-old Freddie James was driving east in his semi-truck along U.S. 27 coming onto the same intersection.
The front of the F-150 struck the semi-truck in the middle of the intersection, and both engulfed in flames.
A Suwannee spokesperson reported that the two occupants of the F-150 could not get out of the vehicle and both died on the scene. The identification of both occupants is pending next of kin notification.
The semi-truck driver was able to get out of the fire and sustained minor injuries.
Charges have not been filed and are pending investigation.
