Sanderson Car Crash on County Road 127 Leaves Two Boys Injured
Sanderson, Florida (January 17, 2018) – Two boys were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Sanderson Tuesday evening, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash took place at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, at Abernathy Street and CR –127.
FHP said a 9-year-old boy was driving a moped northbound on a sidewalk with a passenger aged 7 and failed to yield the right of way to a woman driving a Silver Toyota Corolla.
The moped slid for about 15 feet and came to a final rest on Abernathy Street.
The 9-year-old suffered a possible broken leg and was transported to UF Health Jacksonville while the 7-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries but was not transported to a hospital, FHP said.
The 54-year-old Corolla driver was uninjured in the crash.
FHP said Charges are pending.
The incident remains under investigation.
