A wrong-way collision occurred in Jefferson County early Sunday morning leaving two adults and one child dead on U.S. Highway 27.
Florida Highway Patrol stated that 82-year-old Gunn Phillips of Dade City was heading in the wrong direction on U.S. Highway 27 at around 6:42 A.M. on Sunday, April 29.
As Phillips was heading in the wrong direction, 32-year-old Christina Graddy was traveling in the right direction, along with her 8-year-old passenger, causing in a head-on accident.
All occupants of both vehicles were found deceased at the scene.
Authorities report that Philips’ vehicle caught on fire.
Graddy and her 8-year-old passenger were reported to not be wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating the incident to figure out if alcohol was involved.
