A 23-year-old is dead after being struck by a Lee County School bus at around 2 P.M. Wednesday at the intersection of Corkscrew Road and Corkscrew Woodlands Boulevard.
Florida Highway Patrol reports that 23-year-old Taylor Brooke Lee was driving her 2016 Volkswagen Jetta when she was unsuccessful in yielding at the intersection of Corkscrew Road and ended up in the path of a school bus.
Lee was rushed to Lee Memorial Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Lee’s passenger, 22-year-old Brittany Marie Diaz was also rushed to Lee Memorial Hospital where she remains in serious condition.
The driver who was driving the school bus who was identified as 27-year-old Amanda Leigh Timte was rushed to Gulf Medical Center with reportedly serious injuries.
No students were on the bus when the incident happened, however, Timte was on her way to pick up students for dismissal.
The crash remains under investigation by Florida Highway Patrols.
