Woman Chasing Dog on I-295 Struck and Killed by Car
Jacksonville, FL (September 13, 2017) – A woman was struck by a car and killed on I-295 southbound Tuesday, September 12 evening as she was chasing her own dog.
Witnesses reported that the woman was driving southbound on I-295, near Pritchard Road when her dog jumped or fell from her vehicle.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the woman stopped her vehicle on the shoulder to try and bring back her dog. This led her to be struck by an oncoming Toyota Camry.
The fatality was identified as 56-year-old Sylvia Taylor, of Jacksonville.
The FHP is continuing their investigation with pending charges.
