Orange County, FL – A collision taking place Friday morning at around 10 a.m. on State Road 528 leaves one person dead. The crash is said to have been related to speeding and reckless driving in a construction zone, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident happened on eastbound State Road 528 near Florida Mall.
Investigators said that a red Honda 2000 was clocked going 92 mph in a 55-mph construction zone as a trooper was set up on the side of the road watching for speeders.
The driver of the Honda lost control as he made two aggressive lane changes and crashing into a box truck while being pursued by the trooper.
Investigators mentioned that the truck swerved into a third vehicle because of the impact of the crash causing it to slam into a pole and flip on its side.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and was identified as 50-year old Steve Brown of North Lauderdale.
The driver of the Honda was charged with vehicular manslaughter. He was identified as 24-year old Kenrick E. Moss.
